Amplify Trading Limited takes data privacy very seriously and to demonstrate our strong commitment to protecting personal data we have detailed our policy protocols below, including important information on who we are and how and why we collect, store, use and share your personal information, in relation to both (i) our university campus simulation events (‘Trading Simulations’); and (ii) our professional trading courses and workshops (‘Trading Courses’). We use your personal information in different ways depending on whether you are attending a Trading Simulation or a Trading Course and we have made these differences clear below. Please note, we offer different types of Trading Courses, some of which also include trading simulations, which are referred to as ‘Trading Courses (with Simulations)’ below.

We collect, use and are responsible for certain personal information about you. When we do so we are subject to data protection legislation and we are responsible as ‘controller’ of that personal information for the purposes of those laws.

Amplify Trading Limited (‘Amplify Trading’, the ‘Company’, ‘we’) is a registered company in England and Wales (No. 06798566).

WHAT DATA WE COLLECT

We may collect and use the following forms of personal information about you when you attend a Trading Simulation or a Trading Course (with Simulation):

  • Personal details: name, email and telephone number

  • Information on your level of prior trading experience: complete beginner; theoretical understanding; or 1-2 years’ experience

  • Performance data and behavioural metrics relating to your participation in one of our training simulations

  • VISA status: if one is required to participate in our courses

  • If, and what date, you would like to attend a seminar

  • How you heard about Amplify Trading

 

For participants who undertake a Trading Course we will collect the following personal information only:

  • Personal details: name, email and telephone number

 

HOW WE GATHER YOUR DATA

We collect all personal information directly from you – when you make an enquiry, or on our website when you download a brochure, or as part of the registration process to take part in a Trading Simulation or for one of our Trading Courses. 

 

The Trading Courses offered by Amplify Trading are as follows:

  • In-house One-Week Programme

  • In-house and hybrid (remote learning) Career Trader Programme

  • In-house Internship Training Programme

  • In-House City Prep Programme

 

HOW AND WHY WE USE YOUR DATA

Under data protection law, we can only use your personal information if we have a proper reason for doing so, e.g.:

  • to comply with our legal and regulatory obligations;

  • for the performance of our contract with you or to take steps at your request before entering into a contract;

  • for our legitimate interests or those of a third party; or

  • where you have given consent.

A legitimate interest is when we have a business or commercial reason to use your information, so long as this is not overridden by your own rights and interests.

PROMOTIONAL COMMUNICATIONS

 

We will only send you marketing communications where you have provided your opt-in consent. The only marketing communications we send are about our Trading Courses and you will always be given the opportunity to opt-out of receiving further communications. If you wish to subscribe to our marketing newsletter then you can opt-in (HERE) or when signing up for our services, and you can unsubscribe at any time by following the instructions in the newsletter.

 

If you contact us via email, telephone, post, or on-line enquiry, we will contact you with non-promotional communications, including necessary information regarding the course(s) you enquired about, in order to facilitate entry into the contract of using our services.

 

We will never share your data with any third-party for marketing purposes, without having your explicit permission to do so.

 

WHO WE SHARE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION WITH

 

We routinely share personal information with:

  • Service Providers: third parties we use to help deliver our services to you, eg payment service providers;

  • Additional Service Providers: other third parties we use to help us run our business, eg website hosts;

  • Linked Service Providers: third parties approved by you, eg social media sites you choose to link your account to or third party payment providers;

  • Insurers: our insurers and brokers;

  • Banking Providers: our bank;

  • Financial Institutions: Where you sign-up to use our Trading Simulations or a Trading Course (with Simulation), we may also share your personal information with our financial institution partners if you have provided your consent to this, as described in the ‘How and why we use your data’ section above. Our current list of financial institution partners are as follows:

    • Morgan Stanley 

    • Credit Suisse

    • TPICAP

    • Bank of America Merrill Lynch

We only share information with Financial Institutions in relation to your performance if you have performed above a certain performance threshold, as agreed with the Financial Institutions. Financial Institutions use this information to identify potential candidates for employment. We only allow our service providers and Financial Institutions to handle your personal information if we are satisfied they take appropriate measures to protect your personal information. 

  • External Auditors: We may also share personal information with external auditors, eg in relation to the audit of our accounts.

  • Law Enforcement/Regulatory: We may disclose and exchange information with law enforcement agencies and regulatory bodies to comply with our legal and regulatory obligations. 

  • Business Sale/Restructure: We may also need to share some personal information with other parties, such as potential buyers of some or all of our business or during a re-structuring. Usually, information will be anonymised but this may not always be possible. The recipient of the information will be bound by confidentiality obligations.

 

WHERE IS YOUR INFORMATION HELD

Information may be held at our offices and those of our third party agencies, service providers, representatives and agents as described above (see above: ‘Who we share your personal information with’).

HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR DATA

‘We’ will keep your data for a reasonable period of time in order to facilitate your enquiry in regards to one, or more, of our courses.

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online and in person at workshops or trade fairs.

 

TRANSFERRING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION OUT OF THE EEA

To deliver services to you, it is sometimes necessary for us to share your personal information outside the European Economic Area (EEA), eg: with our service providers located outside the EEA.
